Did I hear you calling my name or was I dreaming?
As the curtains of my mind blew back revealing
Sunlight streaming in, and smells of spring
My spirits and my wishes reeling round and round
Like windmills spinning 'gainst the sky.
So peaceful was I sleeping in the routine of my worldly ways
That when the finger of God reached out and touched me
I was stricken like Paul on that fateful day of reckoning
When the soldier became a man of love
And the scales fell from my eyes.
When I came to I was weeping and like a lover reaching out
Beseeching you to linger just a minute or a lifetime more
So strong in my desire to be the vessel of your making
Rallying the human race to strive for good
And wishing to see.
